KinomatiX gyrolog

Clean Gyro Log

With the most recent advances in PID tuning with Brian white’s genius PIDToolbox, blackbox logging became vastly more popular for PID tuning and frame review. We proudly present this plot depicting the frequency distribution on our KinomatiX BNF. Very low noise in general and no spikes in the important region of below 100hz can be observed. The log represents a 1 and 1/2 minutes flight with some punches, flips and cruising (thanks David Gu!). Feel free to download the log and check out yourself!

Bye Bye Softmount

Softmounting your camera with Alphagel or silicone dampeners is over! With increased stiffness in our massive camera mount and frame body, resonances are shifted out of troubling frequencies regions towards higher, less critical (easily filterable) frequencies. The result? No annoying spikes in sub 100hz region, super clean footage guaranteed.

The camera mount is designed to firmly hold even the heaviest of cinelifter cameras and allows a wide range of camera angles, easily adaptable with M4 thumb screws.

GPS & LiPo Plug

The printed GPS mount will make sure it stays in place and is slightly angled to ensure a fast gps lock and strong connection during forward flight. The integratged XT90/AS150 mount allows hassle free Lipo changing. Don’t worry about ripping cables and connectors apart, the mount is firmly integrated into the frame.

3D prints

TPU Mount for the VTX Antennas ensure best video link quality at all times and make sure the antennas don’t get caught in the propellers. Many 3D printed accessories (Pololu, Caps, Air Unit, etc etc) allow this build to be super clean where every part has its place.

XT30 Power supply

XT30 connectors in the back provide clean, filtered 12V (Pololu) power to your cameras. optionally two XT30 slots for maximum versatility!

Camera mount

highlighting the back hinges of our camera mount. M5 Bolts and massive custom Aluminium CNC parts make a strong impact on flight stability with heavy cameras! We have redesigned and improved stability of the hinge design a bunch of times resulting in a super strong mount while deliberately abstaining from fancy quick mount solutions. In our experience, these often lead to vibrations and resonance issues.

8″ Cinelifter X8 aka KinomatiX

After a long journey of refinements and design discussions we are proud to release the KinomatiX as our 8″ cinelifter frame.

The KinomatiX was optimized in many aspects to create an extremely stiff base structure for carrying heavy cameras with clean flight characteristics and gyro logs. The camera does not need to be soft-mounted with ‘traditional’ alpha gel since there are (close to) no frame resonances that render the video footage useless. Many small improvements for reliable operation originating in the cinelifter community are condensed into this frame. 3D prints for every part allow a very clean build with great cable management and component placement.

Huge shoutout to Ellis van Jason for helping us to improve many design parameters of this frame for virtually perfect flight characteristics and smooth operation even in harsh conditions. The Formula 1 video above is only one of his stunning videos, this time shot almost entirely with the KinomatiX.
